Project Manager Born in Cape Town and matriculated from Fish Hoek Senior High School. She went to Wellington Teachers’ Training College before entering the teaching profession in 1990. In 1999, she was appointed Head of Department at Ellerton Primary School. From there she was seconded to one of the Western Cape Department of Education’s district offices as the HIV & AIDS Co-ordinator. She spent most of her subsequent career in working with various stakeholders in government and the non governmental sector on matters related to social regeneration, community development, human rights, gender and HIV/AIDS Life Skills. In early 2000, she became involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and served as a member of the National Executive Committee of NAPTOSA(National Professional Teachers’ Organisation of South Africa). Three highlights for Lynne was appearing on national television in 2006 regarding sexuality education, speaking on behalf of thousands of teachers at the Human Rights Public Hearing on School Violence in Cape Town and being nominated for the Shoprite Checkers Woman of the Year award by the Western Cape Department of Education in 2007 then obtaining the BTech Degree in Project Management during 2007 from CPUT. Her hobbies include gardening, gyming and retail therapy. |
